The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian Military Cadet Corps wing of the Indian Armed Forces regulated under the Ministry of Defense, which recruits cadets from schools and colleges all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. This training also inculcates the feeling of comradeship, courage, honesty and above all the patriotism. Whereas, the Motto of the NCC is “Unity and Discipline” (Ekta aur Anushasan).

A unit of National Cadet Corps (NCC) army wing was started in this college in the year 2015 to instill national spirit and discipline among undergraduate students (Boys and Girls) under the supervision of 55 Bengal Bn NCC, Tamluk. The present cadet strength is 160. The cadets have participated in several camps (CATC, NIC, TSC, AAC, RDC etc.) and actively involved in several extension activities like Independence Day and Republic Day Celebration, NCC day celebration, celebration of World Environment Day, Rally and Sensitization program on Cashless Transaction, several campaigns like Health and Hygiene, Industrial Pollution, Aids Awareness Campaign. This year the unit has organized a Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) and NCC ‘C’ Certificate Examination.

Aims of NCC

    • To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
    • To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and be always available for the service of the nation.
    • To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.

Recent Achievements:

  • Republic Day Camp 2018 (IGC): JUO Krishna Laiya, NCC Cadets, has been selected for participating in Republic Day Camp 2018 (IGC), 2018 at Kalyani from 28.10.2018 to 06.11.2018 and represented Haldia Government College.
  • East Zone Shooting Coaching Capsule (2019): JUO Krishna Laiya, NCC Cadets, has been selected for participating in East Zone Shooting Coaching Capsule conducted by 10 Bengal BN NCC, Asansol from 21st May to 30th May, 2019 at Asansol.
  • Republic Day Camp 2019 (IGC): Karuna Maity, NCC Cadette, has been selected for participating in Republic Day Camp (IGC), 2019 at Kalyani from 07.11.2019 to 16.11.2019 and represented Haldia Government College.
  • Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat Camp- II (2019): JUO Krishna Laiya, NCC Cadets, has been selected for participating in EK BHARAT SHRESHTH BHARAT CAMP- II conducted by 16 Bengal BN NCC, Darjeeling from 13.12.2019 to 24.12.2019.
  • Republic Day Parade, 2020: JUO Krishna Laiya and Karuna Maity, NCC cadre of Haldia Government College, has been selected for participating in Republic Day Parade on 26th January, 2020 at Kolkata.
  • Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat Camp- II (2020): SUO Labani Das, NCC Cadette, has been selected for participating in EK BHARAT SHRESHTH BHARAT CAMP- II conducted by 16 Bengal BN NCC, Darjeeling from 25.09.2020 to 30.09.2020.
  • All India Kanchenjunga Sikkim Trek (Girls) 2021: Cdt Nilanjana Das, NCC cadette of Haldia Government College, had attend national level trekking program at Namchi, Sikkim from 16.11.2021 to 22.11.2021.
  • Inter Group Shooting Competition 2022: Cdt Bhakti Mondal, NCC cadette of Haldia Government College, had participated in the Inter Group Shooting Competition 2022 under 10 Bengal BN NCC, Asansol from 10.06.2022 to 17.06.2022 at Asansol.
  • THAL SAINIK CAMP (IGC) 2022: Cdt Ujjwal Das, NCC cadette of Haldia Government College, had participated in the THAL SAINIK CAMP (IGC) 2022 conducted by 46 Bengal BN NCC at Contai from 11.08.2022 to 20.08.2022. Sangita Kandar, another NCC Cadette had participated THAL SAINIK CAMP (IGC) 2022 conducted by 4 Sikkim BN NCC, Namchi from 18.08.2022 to 27.08.2022. at Namchi, Sikkim.
  • All India Odisha Trek: JUO Animesh Das Madraji, NCC cadette of Haldia Government College, had participated in the All India Odisha Trek at Bhawanipatna, Odisha from 19.09.2022 to 26.09.2022.
