Assessment

The academic progress of both UG and PG students is assessed by Internal Examination as well as the end semester examination.

Internal Assessment:

• The internal assessment has been conducted twice in each semester through written examination/ project work/ quiz/ assignment/ viva-voce as per the guidelines of the affiliating university.
• Overall time schedule is framed by the Academic Sub Committee, while the specific dates for the tests are determined by the departments.
• The question paper setting, copy evaluation, preservation of the answer scripts are arranged by the respective departments through departmental meeting.
• Based on the evaluation, students receive proper guidance regarding ways to improve their performance in written examination.
• Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory to appear in the Internal Assessment.

End Semester Examination:

• The end semester examination is conducted solely by the affiliating university.
• The examination schedule and examination centre are duly notified to the students through college and university website.

Post-Publication Review and Scrutiny:

• After the publication of result and distribution of marksheets, Controller of Examinations Vidyasagar University issues a notice regarding review and scrutiny for the students who are dissatisfied with their marks.
• In review system, the answer script of the student is re-evaluated, while in scrutiny or self-inspection, the student receives a copy of the evaluated answer script via RTI application.
• To apply for the review or scrutiny, the willing students need to submit application along with necessary documents in a prescribed format to the college office.
• The college office forwards the same to the university upon verification.
• The entire process of re-evaluation or self-inspection followed by consequent modification of marks is carried out in a prompt and time bound manner.
