Research Experiences

  • Worked as Research Associate (Physical) at Anthropological Survey of India, North West Regional Centre, Dehradun from 24.01.2013 to 11.05.2017 and involved in formulation and implemention of research projects, conducting fieldwork, collection of data on sociodemography, anthropometric profile, reproductive health, blood sample, tabulation, analysis, interpretation of data and writing report, engaged in investigation of peopling of Indian tribes by whole genome sequencing combined with multiplexed SNP typing.
  • Worked as Assistant Research Scientist (Non-Medical) at National Nutrition Monitoring Bureau (NNMB), West Bengal Unit, Indian Council of Medical Research on the project entitled as “Assessment of diet and Nutrition among the Rural People of West Bengal” from January, 2011 to November, 2011 and involved in extensive fieldwork in different districts of West Bengal, assessment of Nutritional Status by anthropometry, clinical signs and symptoms, blood pressure as per the guideline of National Institute of Nutrition, ICMR.
  • Worked as Project Fellow in the UGC-UPE Major Research Project on “Use of Forensic Science in the Administration of Justice in India: A Futuristic Study” in the area of development of Forensic Anthropology in the administration of criminal justice at National and international level in the Department of Law, University of Calcutta from 2007 to July, 2010.

  • DNA Polymorphism in Contemporary Indian Population and Phylogeny
    Under this National Project conducted by Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture,Government of India, engaged in investigation of phylogenetic relationship and migration pattern among Indian tribes, spread over length and breadth of the country.
  • Community genetics and Health: Bio-cultural Adaptation
    Under this National Project conducted by Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture,Government of India, involved in Screening cum Health Awareness Programme among different tribal communities of India
  • Bio-cultural Diversity, Environment and Sustainable Development
    Under this National Project conducted by Anthropological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture,Government of India, involved in extensive fieldwork to collect data related to demography, Nutritional Anthropometry, Physiological Variables and women reproductive profile of tribal and non tribal communities of India.
