POST GRADUATE DEPARTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY

The Department of Geography in Haldia Government College enjoys a heritage status in terms of its academic activities. The Department started in 1988 and was the first UG department under Vidyasagar University. Since its inception the department has produced many talented students who held prestigious positions in different field. From 2015 the department started post-graduate course under the affiliation to Vidyasagar University. The department is equipped with all the necessary instruments to develop field level expertise among the students. The department has a seminar library packed with good collection of useful books, two Geographical Information System (GIS) laboratory, a soil laboratory. This is one of the best equipped departments to serve the students. Teachers provide lectures, handouts and copies of other necessary study materials.
